Musarat Qadri Shaikh leads the Cyber Enabled Fraud Priority Group in the Office of Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure Protection (OCCIP), supporting the Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS), Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CCIP) and the Information Sharing Team. The group’s mission is to support a unified fraud information-sharing ecosystem by strengthening collaboration within Treasury, across the USG, and with financial sector partners.
Mrs. Qadri Shaikh had most recently served as a Deputy Director for Global Cyber Resilience at OCCIP and oversaw the Global Cyber Resilience Team, where she focused on strengthening key global partnerships and supported resiliency efforts for the sector. Prior to OCCIP and OCIO at Treasury, Mrs. Qadri Shaikh has 20 years of private sector risk management experience across telecommunications, automotive, aviation, and financial services industries. Mrs. Qadri Shaikh has a degree in Information Technology from the Toronto Metropolitan University and holds certifications from ISACA—CISA, CISM, and CRISC. She is also certified Factor Analysis of Information Risk (FAIR).
She is recognized for her proficiency in cybersecurity risk quantification, particularly in applying resources for greater mitigation impact, and her innovative use of the FAIR methodology has set new benchmarks in the industry. Her quantitative approach to cyber risk management has shifted Treasury’s focus from compliance to strategic, data-driven decisions, propelling Treasury toward smarter, stronger cybersecurity.
